Since the start of Professional Wrestling over 100 years ago, there have been thousands of matches that the fans of sport would call “Classic Matches”. These classic matches can be called that for a variety of reasons. Do they show incredible in-ring technical skills? Does the match have hard hitting, realistic looking action? Is the match a weapon filled blood bath? All of these things can be used to consider what makes a great match.

I will be looking through these matches, both old and new, to rank them and decide which matches rank highest and lowest. I will run through the match, the context of the match and the action that takes place. Talking about the wrestlers involved and the landscape of the professional wrestling industry at the time.
