Despite being amongst the top goal scorers this season, United have been left wanting in some games this season. Signing an elite striker this season could be the difference in top 4 and Title winners, and going far in the Champions League.

Very few elite strikers are available at any moment in time, but this season there are two top, top forwards who could be available to United – At the right price.

1. Harry Kane

England captain and Spurs legend Harry Kane will look back on his career so far, and look disappointed. You wouldn’t think so looking at the stats; 165 Premier League goals in only 240 games, a World Cup semi final and a Champions league final appearance look like fine achievements to have.

But at the age of 27, Kane will be wondering whether it is time to win trophies. With Spurs looking less and less likely to challenge for major honours at the failing Spurs, Kane will surely be looking for a move to a club with more ambition that Tottenham.

According to Sky Sports, Kane has signalled his intent to leave the Tottenham Stadium, with Manchester United and Manchester City set to battle it out for the prolific Englishman’s signature. Manchester United would be crazy to not spend big on the striker, who currently tops the Premier League scoring charts. His 20+ goals per season in the league could be just what United need to win their first Premier League Championship since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

2. Erling Haaland

Borussia Dortmund’s wonderkid from Norway has been the envy of all of Europe since he burst onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg. The striker has been one of the top marksmen in Europe, scoring 25 goals in just 26 for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season.

He reportedly has a release clause activated in his contract next summer, so their could be a bidding war this season to secure the Norwegian’s signature.

He would fit with the ethos of signing young players at Manchester United as well as providing the cutting edge up front that is lacking with Anthony Martial, and with Cavani in the twilight of his career, would be a signing for the next ten years for Ole’s side.
