Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide is looking less and less likely to pen a new deal with the Owls, Football League World understands.
The Dutch born Centre back is expected to reject a new contract at Hillsborough, and Mick Mccarthy’s team are ready to fight for his signature.
Osaze Urhoghide played 16 games for Sheffield Wednesday in last seasons campaign, showing his versitility by filling in at centre back, left back and right back.
With Sol Bamba’s career decisions unclear, with the Ivorian Centre back claiming he wants to end his career on his own terms, the Bluebirds will be looking to sign his replacement without breaking the bank.
Cardiff won’t have it easy though. The young centre half was linked with a host of Champions league clubs back in August, including Club Brugge and Sporting Lisbon, as well as a number of Premier League sides including Leeds United.
The fact that the man nicknamed “the Big O” holds a Dutch passport helps his cause when signing for a EU club. However he looks to be keen to stay in England, and has yet to rule out staying in Sheffield.
