CM Punk has called his match with Adam Page “garbage”, citing a fear he may get injured by a “shoot” attack by the former AEW Champion.

The two men battled each other at AEW Double or Nothing 2022, when CM Punk best Hangman to win the AEW Championship.

The match was well received at the time, although CM Punk has negative opinions of the bout.

In a recent interview with ESPN, CM Punk revealed he thought their bout was a “garbage match”, and cited his fear of being injured by Page as the reason.

“And I proceed to have what I think is a garbage match because I’m trying to protect myself on stuff instead of actually just working and trying to put on the best performance I can.” Said Punk,

“I’m keeping an eye out. He chopped me in the mouth one time, and I’m just like, ‘OK, did you do that on purpose?’ You chip my tooth, and I’m like, ‘All right, should I give him a receipt?’ It changes the dynamic. It poisoned everything for me, and it made it all really, really ugly, and that was what set all of this off, and here we are over a year later and ain’t s— been done about it.”

The CM Punk vs Adam Page rivalry has gone down in infamy, due to the events that transpired after All Out 2022
