Aston Villa’s top 5 21/22 transfers.
No doubt Aston Villa has done some amazing business this season with not much notice from Digne to Coutinho. The Villains have been busy. They have made some huge transfers that have helped them fill the £100 million hole left by the departing Jack Grealish.

Let’s take a look at 5 of their best season signings.
Danny Ings
Joining Villa from Southampton with a price tag of 30 million € the English forward starts a new chapter of his career at 29. Ings has a decent record scoring 59 goals and assisting 15 times in his 156 Premier League appearances, a record that has been heavily affected by his unfortunate injury record.
His time at Villa would largely depend on his ability to keep himself off the injury table. He would hope to link up with his national teammate Watkins to produce an effective attack.
Lucas Digne
The Frenchman joined for a fee of 30 million € from Everton. The move was unexpected. The left-back would only strengthen the defence being a well-seasoned player having represented his country and clubs like PSG and Barcelona.
He has 115 appearances in the Premier League netting 4 times, assisting 19 goals and keeping 32 clean sheets along the way.
Ashley Young
The veteran joins as a left-back from Inter Milan for£1. A former Premier League champion, Young joins the Villains with a record that runs 381 appearances deep scoring 48 goals and assisting 71 times mostly from his Manchester United days where he played a more attacking role and an impressive 78 clean sheets. His role will be to provide squad depth and backup to Digne. He would also help keep the squad morale up as one of the elder statesmen.
Leon Bailey
Another surprising signing is Leon Bailey. Bailey joined from Bayern Leverkusen for 32 million €. Wanted by some big clubs such as Liverpool Bailey was convinced to join Aston Villa where he would hope to build a successful career at only 24 years old.
In his 133 professional appearances, the Jamaican winger had scored 37 goals. He has already made 9 appearances for Villa netting once.
Philippe Coutinho
Undoubtedly the biggest transfer shock of the 21/22 January transfer window was that of Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho. Joining on loan from Barcelona the former Liverpool man joins his former teammate Gerrard who influenced his move.
He would certainly add their attack and add that creative spark that has been missing from Villas gameplay. He made 154 appearances scoring 42 goals and assisting 35 times. He has completed 150 through balls and created 52 big game chances. He definitely will keep the Villa faithful at the edge of their seats.
Aston Villa has done some great business and with the help of wealthy investors who are ready to put their money where their mouth is there will be more big names joining.
Steven Gerrard has taken over which has already attracted players to join to learn from a legendary player. His time as Rangers would show that he has what it takes to take the one time champions league winners back to their former glory.
