WWE’s Flash Morgan Webster was released from his contract this month despite being injured, a new report from Fightful Select has revealed.
The young Welsh star signed a deal with NXT UK in 2018, before upgrading it to an NXT deal after appearances in the United States. However, he stayed with NXT UK and alongside Mark Andrews won the NXT UK Tag Team Championships, becoming the first Welshman to win titles in the WWE.
However, with news of NXT UK shutting down, both Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster were released from their WWE contracts. However, it has been revealed that Webster was injured when his deal was terminated and he is “nowhere near” ready to return to action.
Fightful Select recently reported;
Flash Morgan Webster had been sidelined with an injury since last year, and hasn’t been in the ring since the October 2021 tapings. We’re told that even though the surgeon cleared Webster shortly before his release, his physio had not, and he was nowhere near being able to return to the ring. In the past, WWE had avoided releasing injured talent.“
They also revealed that he signed a new deal with the WWE this year in order to make sure he was looked after while he recovered from his injury.
“We’re told that Webster signed in order to make sure he was taken care of during the injury process, but that doesn’t seem to completely be the case“
Clearly this was not the case and WWE fired him whilst he lay on the injury table, no closer to a return. Hopefully he can recover soon and make a full return to the ring and become one of the top name on the British independent scene.
Flash Morgan Webster was released by WWE just before Clash at the Castle, in his home country of Wales. Click here to read more about the legendary event in Cardiff.
