Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson recently made their return to WWE after 2 years away, reuniting with former Bullet Club teammate AJ Styles as “The O.C”. The former Good Brothers had stints in AEW, Impact and NJPW after being released by WWE in 2020 and were a key part of Kenny Omega’s legendary AEW Championship reign.
They returned to Monday Night Raw on October 10, 2022, nearly two and a half years after their firing in April 2020. Karl Anderson is still currently a champion in New Japan, holding the NEVER Openweight title, so their debut was a huge shock to fans around the world. He is not presented as a champion on screen in WWE however.
The pair recently appeared on “WWE After the Bell” to discuss their return after two and a half years away. The duo revealed that they had kept in contact with AJ Styles throughout their time away, before Vince McMahon retired and Triple H was put in charge. The duo were then texted by Triple H when he took over and asked to return to the company. They agreed and made their return alongside Styles during an episode of Raw last month.
Speaking to WWE After the Bell, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson said;
Gallows: “We had gone back and forth with Uncle Allen [AJ Styles] before the regime change, but we weren’t talking about anything. We had done the two years at IMPACT and were thankful to them, it was a great two years there, but we wanted to recharge our batteries and hit Japan pretty hard. We were like, ‘let’s take this time and go to Japan through the New Year and then make a decision on what we want to do.’ We’re in Dallas, doing our last match with the Motor City Machine Guns and we get a text, ‘Hey guys, can we talk?’ Well, shit, here we go.
Maybe we should text back. It was a text from Triple H, but we didn’t know if this was something we could do or wanted to do or what was going to come out of it after what happened the last time. We got on the phone and could feel the new vibe and how positive everything was. One thing led to another from there.”
