After Kevin Owen recently re-signed with WWE, Sami Zayn has reportedly extended his WWE deal. Zayn, real name Rami Sebei, had a contract with WWE rumoured to be expiring early next year, with rumours him signing with AEW extremely prevalent. Fans were excited to see what Sami Zayn would do outside WWE with some fans wanting to see his former character El Generico wrestling in AEW.

However, just as Kevin Owens recently extended his contract with WWE, reports are coming out that Sami Zayn has extended his deal with WWE. According to reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sami Zayn has signed a multi-deal contract with WWE, extending his time in WWE for a further 2 to 3 years. However, Dave Meltzer states that it is purely “Locker Room Talk” and has yet to be confirmed by WWE sources.

Sami Zayn was one of WWE’s brightest prospects when he signed for the company in 2012. He became one of the most exciting faces in WWE during his time in NXT, with his NXT Championship victory one of the best moments in NXT history. The Sami Zayn vs Adrian Neville feud was one of the best feuds in company history, and the matches likewise.

In recent years he has rekindled his high profile feud with Kevin Owens. He most recently faced off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship, as well as claiming that there is a conspiracy against him in WWE. He is one of the best in-ring talents in WWE and has worked to become one of the most interesting characters as well. Due to him signing a new deal with WWE, a rumoured move to AEW has fallen through.
