WWE star Rhea Ripley was set to take on Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank, for a chance to win her first Raw Women’s Championship. However, an injury to Ripley has caused that match to be cancelled and her WWE future looks up in the air.
Rhea Ripley’s injury means she is missing the show and is instead being replaced, Carmella won a 5-woman match on Raw to take her spot at Money in the Bank, although the former Smackdown Women’s Champion is unlikely to dethrone Belair as Champ.
Ripley recently joined up with the menacing and spooky stable, known as Judgement Day, teaming up with Edge and Damian Priest in her bid for title glory. However, they soon usurped Edge and installed Finn Balor as the leader of the group and the faction looked stronger than ever.
However, injuries hit and seem to have derailed the momentum built up. Rhea Ripley recent suffered a “brain injury”, which is largely expected to be a concussion she has suffered on Monday Night Raw. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claimed that “The two things that WWE doesn’t like to talk about are COVID and concussions”, which may be why they are hesitant to say what the injury is, and simply say that Rhea Ripley has a brain injury.
She also suffered from a dental injury in WWE recently, which is also one of the reasons why she is missing time in WWE. The former NXT Women’s Champion was seen wearing braces after a teeth injury on the same edition of Raw, and she confirmed that she suffered a “brain/teeth” injury.
When will Rhea Ripley return from injury?
Rhea Ripley won’t be out injured for too long, with some expecting her to miss only a few weeks out of the ring due to injury.
While discussing the injury on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that he didn’t think that the injury was too serious. Despite sounding like a serious issue, like the one that caused Daniel Bryan to retire, he thinks that she will only miss a few weeks out of the ring.
Hopefully after Rhea Ripley’s injury, she can return to the hunt for the Women’s Championship and finally ascend to the top of the WWE Women’s Division alongside her Judgement Day colleagues.
