Is the Undertaker dead? The legendary wrestler Mark Calaway aka The Undertaker is, despite recent reports, not dead.

He began his career in 1987, wrestling as “Mean” Mark Callous. However, he hung up his boots in May of last year, retiring for good. His last match was against AJ Styles at Wrestlemania in a “Boneyard Match”.

His recent retirement is an explanation for the rumours of the 56 year old wrestler having passed away recently. Here we will try to explain those rumours.

Is the Undertaker Dead?

Despite being known as “The Deadman” for his entire career, The Undertaker is not dead.

His death has been reported by local news organisations multiple times in the past. Empire Sports erroneously reported his demise after his loss to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania XXX.

Twitter and Facebook reports also mentioned his death, reportedly due to his concussion suffered at Wrestlemania XXX. His wife, WWE Diva Michelle McCool, was set to be the one that found him.

“Mark “The Undertaker” Calaway was found in his Houston home dead late last night by his wife Michelle McCool” Said the report, which has since be debunked. Calaway was not available to comment.

Faking His Own Death?

Has the Undertaker ever faked his own death? The Undertaker has pretended to be dead many times in the WWE/F.

The Undertaker first died in 1994, when he lost to Yokozuna in a Casket Match. He then ascended to the heavens after being trapped in the casket. This signalled the death of the Undertaker.

His next death would be two years later, when he lost a Buried Alive Match against Mankind. Due to interference by The Executioner, Undertaker was tossed into a grave and buried alive with dirt.

He returned soon after and competed against Mankind in Hell in a Cell, famous for Mankind being tossed off the top of the cell.

He was later killed three times by his brother, Kane

First, he was set on fire after being locked inside a casket. This was in a match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, for the WWF Championship.

The next time was a buried alive match between The Undertaker and Vince McMahon. Kane interfered, causing a crane to exploded and blind the Deadman. He threw his brother into the grave and covered it in dirt.

Kane would also beat his brother in a buried alive match in 2010. With help from the Nexus, Kane retained his World Heavyweight Championship and murdered his brother for the third time.
