WWE Superstar Braun Strowman has shared his opinion on Triple H taking over from Vince McMahon as the head of creative in the WWE.
Braun Strowman and Triple H have a long history together, with Strowman being signed by The Game in 2013 to train with his NXT Brand at the WWE Performance Centre. While he never made his debut on NXT TV, he did wrestle on various live events under the name Braun Stowman.
He went on to win the Universal Champion in the promotion, as well as being the victor in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2017. However, he was in shock when he was part of the WWE releases in 2021, let go alongside a number of wrestlers in the midst of the pandemic. He returned in 2022 now that Triple H was in charge and has been doing some of his best work, now in a feud with WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Braun Strowman revealed that he thought it was “Awesome” how Triple H took over the running of WWE creative from Vince McMahon, even though he always had a great time under Vince McMahon. The former WWE Champion was full of praise for both McMahon and Helmsley, noting that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are doing an “amazing job” and he “couldn’t be happier to be back” in the WWE, after his 2021 release.
“I think it’s awesome. It’s always evolving. I always had a great time with Vince when he was in charge. He always led the steam for the motion of what WWE is. I have a great relationship with Steph and H and they’re such amazing people and they have such a passion for the business and the industry. You can see with the little Easter eggs hidden here and there, I think they’re evolving the show to be even more fan-oriented.”
“We’re putting products on the TV and I’ve heard it time and time again with me being back from my friends and others saying things like ‘Hey, I had a friend over who’s not a wrestling fan and we turned it on and so and so was on and they did this and all of a sudden now we have a new fan hooked.’ At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. It’s about drawing new eyes in, new demographics.”
“WWE is the top of the mountain when it comes to sports entertainment and Stephanie and H are doing such an amazing job with the young talent that we have in the locker room, portraying these storylines along and just putting out a great product and it’s showing in views and everything else across the board. I couldn’t be happier to be back at this time, helping drive this bus into the future.”
Braun Strowman teamed with Triple H during the Survivor Series 2017 main event. They were both the sole survivors during the tag team match, although we never saw Triple H vs Braun Strowman before The Game retired in 2022.
