WWE may have made its new breakout star after Hell in a Cell as Madcap Moss has drawn praise from fans and WWE Hall of Famers alike. Moss looked dominant in his victory over long time friend Happy Corbin on Sunday’s event, and showed a new attitude and look in the start of his transformation into a WWE star.
Madcap Moss, who was referred to by commentary as simply “Madcap” had been missing from WWE for weeks after an attack by Corbin, but turned up a new man at Hell in a Cell with a new look with classic wrestling trunks and a new attitude.
With rumours of a change of name for the star, a change of character also seems on the cards. He was a lot more serious in the match and with his post-match comments. He looked a change man but it was a good change for the WWE Superstar, whose win over Happy Corbin was his biggest since he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal earlier this year.
A number of wrestling stars and Hall of Famers took to twitter to heap praise on Moss, who won a brutal No Holds Barred match against Corbin in one of the best matches at Hell in a Cell. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray praised the match, as did other stars like AEW’s Swerve Strickland and Frankie Kazarian, in addition to WWE commentator Pat McAfee.
Madcap Moss’ win was dominant and he sent Happy Corbin out of the arena on a stretcher. It’s likely that Corbin will spend some time off WWE TV for a while to help sell the injury suffered from the match and Moss is likely to get a big push in the future.
A shot against either Ricochet or Theory for one of the midcard titles could be on the cards for Moss. With Ricochet not even featured on the Hell in a Cell show, it looks more likely that he will drop the title soon with Madcap Moss being the ideal person to take the belt from him.
Moss spoke to Megan Morant backstage after his victory to speak about his win. He indicated a change of attitude and laid out what is next in the career of Madcap Moss in WWE.
“It all came together tonight, I got my revenge. The old Madcap Moss would probably go celebrate, tell some jokes and put a smile on my face, but not this Madcap. I’m going right back to work.
“This is just the beginning. Corbin is officially in my rearview, and I’m onto much bigger and better things. You can count on that.”
