Dudley Boyz Reunited For One Last Match At Impact 1000

Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley are set to reunite for the first time since leaving the WWE in 2016.

The pair made an iconic return to the company, embarking in feuds with New Day and The Usos, as they turned back the clock on their careers.

This followed nearly a decade spent in TNA/Impact, where they won multiple tag team titles, as well as seeing Bubba Ray (then known as Brother Ray/Bully Ray) winning the TNA World Championship.

Bully Ray defeated Jeff Hardy to become World Champion for the first time.

The pair were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018, which seemed to indicate the end of their storied career. While Bully Ray continued to wrestle with TNA, ROH and on the indie circuit, D-Von Dudley stayed retired for a number of years, working as a backstage producer in the WWE.

However, he was released from his contract in January 2023, which prompted rumors of a return to the ring. He was seen alongside his sons at the Team 3D wrestlign academy, but a return to the ring seemed out of the question.

That was, until it was announced that Team 3D are returning to Impact Wrestling for the first time in 7 years.

Bully Ray and D-Von are set to return for the 1000th episode of Impact (previously “TNA Impact), 19 years after the airing of the very first episode.

The return of the 20-time tag team champions was announced on Busted Open Radio, and confirmed in a Tweet by Impact, advertising their appearance.

It said: “BREAKING: As announced on @BustedOpenRadio, Team 3D (@bullyray5150 and @TestifyDVon) reunite for the first time in 7 years at #IMPACT1000 on September 9 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY!”

The last time Team 3D teamed together in the ring was in 2016, just after their WWE release.

They battled with three other teams, including The Hardy Boyz, for the HOG Tag Team Titles at the December 17th, 2016 event hosted by House of Glory.

That was D-Von’s last match until Impact 1000, but Bubba Ray has continued to wrestle up until 2023, in numerous promotions.

Impact 1000 will feature the return of the Dudleys, on September 9 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY.
