Tony Khan announced on Twitter that Nigel McGuinness has signed a contract with AEW.
Khan tweeted the following:
“Nigel McGuiness is a legend in pro wrestling, and now @McGuinnessNigel is All Elite! See you all TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork for a massive Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite, and I’ll have a very important announcement on TBS tonight!”
McGuinnessness made his ROH return on commentary this past Friday night at Supercard of Honor.
Former Ring of Honor Champion Nigel McGuinness made his long-awaited return to ROH, at the latest Supercard of Honor show.
The former Desmond Wolfe left the promotion in 2016, going on to sign with the WWE as part of their NXT Brand.
He commentated on a number of WWE shows, like NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live, but was fired from the company in October 2022.
Nigel McGuinness returned to Ring of Honor during their Supercard of Honor 2023 show, joining the commentary desk to take up his old position as a commentator.
McGuinness got a huge pop when he was announced as a new signing to ROH, less than six months after leaving the WWE.
He has now signed full-time for All Elite Wrestling, likely as part of the commentary team for Dynamite or Rampage.
His signing may also be related to the upcoming UK show in AEW.
