Tony Khan has spoken about the long-awaited return of Nigel McGuinness to Ring of Honor.
The former ROH Champion made a shock comeback to the promotion at last nights ROH Supercard of Honor.
He joined the commentary desk, having retired from wrestling over a year ago, due to medical and personal issues.
However, his return could be short-lived.
In the post-show press conference, AEW/ROH President Tony Khan revealed that Nigel McGuinness has not signed a full-time deal with the company, despite reports on the contrary.
However, he reiterated that he is a huge fan of the Englishman and hopes to work with Nigel McGuinness again with Ring of Honor.
“I wanted to get together and experience working with him.I’m a huge fan of Nigel McGuinness. I reiterated that to him tonight. As a big fan of his both as a wrestler and commentator, it was an honour to spend time with him. I had never done that before until tonight. It was a great experience working with him, and I hope to do it again.”
“He has played a great role in the history of Ring of Honor, and now, it’s our turn to try and respect that history. I love the renaissance of the promotion — we’ve been able to take so much of the great history of ROH and bring back those elements, while also starting a new history for Ring of Honor. It’s been a dream come true for me.”
