Vince McMahon “Didn’t Get” Breezango Gimmick In WWE

Former WWE star Dirty Dango has spoken about the popular “Breezango” tag team in WWE, revealing how Vince McMahon did not understand the duos humour.

The group was comprised on Fandango and Tyler Breeze, and the team were a comedy duo who wrestled primarily on Smackdown, and later NXT.

Despite not winning tag team gold on the main roster, they win the NXT Tag Team Championships before they were fired from the company in 2021.

In a new interview with WrestlingNews.co, Dango spoke about how Vince McMahon never found the duo funny, and “Vince did not laugh once” at any of their skits.

The duo became one of the most popular teams on Smackdown in 2016, with their incredibly funny “Fashion Files” series.

This employed the duo as faux-cops, investigating a series of disappearances that had very little to do with the show. They also made The Ascension characters in the show, which was their best run on the main roster in the WWE.

Speaking with WrestlingNews.co, Dirty Dango said;

“From day one to the last day we did it, Vince did not laugh once. He did not understand any of the jokes, he didn’t get any of the pop culture or any of the movies.

He did not understand it, he didn’t like it, but he knew the fans liked it, so he kept it on his show. Yeah, he didn’t understand any of it. There would be people in gorilla watching the segment and everyone would pop while the segment was airing and Vince would just look around and be like ‘What the fuck?’.

The dry sense of humor, it just wasn’t his thing you know. If you’re a 70 something year old guy, you’re probably not getting Twin Peaks jokes you know, it’s understandable. It’s nothing against him, he didn’t like it at all, but he knew some people did.”

The Fashion Police, also known as Breezango, disbanded in 2021 when the duo was released by WWE.

Dirty Dango now wrestles in IMPACT Wrestling, while Tyler Breeze appears on UpUpDownDown, but does not wrestle for the WWE.
