Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher has named Will Ospreay as “the greatest wrestler alive”.
This accolade comes just days after Ospreay did battle with Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door, in a match some are calling the greatest match of all time.
Ospreay defeated Omega to win the IWGP United States Championship, although the pair’s rivalry was much more personal than the title belt.
His United Empire teammate Kyle Fletcher was also a big fan of the match, naming Ospreay as the best wrestler in the world today.
Fletcher wrestled on the Zero Hour show, teaming with Jeff Cobb and TJP in a losing effort against Los Ingobernables de Japon.
This meant that he was backstage at the event, watching Ospreay in his Titanic battle against one of the all-time great wrestlers, in Kenny Omega.
Dark Puroresu Flowsion caught up with Kyle Fletcher after the show, to which the Australian wrestler delighted in heaping praise on Will Ospreay.
“I got to be there & hug Will as soon as he came back & tell him how proud of him I was. He’s the greatest wrestler alive today without a doubt in my mind & I hope I can get even close to his level one day.”
Will Ospreay is rumored to be facing off against Kenny Omega one more time at Wembley Stadium, when AEW bring All In to London on August 27th 2023.
