Bryan Danielson injury suffered at Double or Nothing 2022 could be much worse than first feared. The former WWE Champion suffered a concussion in the Anarchy at the Arena match, in a match where he was forced to tap out to Chris Jericho to lose the match for his team.
He was scheduled to face long-time admirer Zack Sabre Jr at Forbidden Door, although the concussion had things up in the air whether or not he could wrestle at the show. Danielson has not appeared on AEW Dynamite since suffering the injury, and with a history of concussions there should be no chances taken with the American Dragon.
Sadly, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has revealed some harsh truths regarding Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr. He revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bryan Danielson will be out for a “quite some time” and that he will not be fit to wrestle at either Forbidden Door or Blood & Guts, which takes place just days later.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez said about Bryan Danielson’s injury;
“[Bryan] Danielson probably wont wrestle for quite some time, missing Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts”
This will come as a huge blow to fans who were excited to see the two technical wizards clash. Both Danielson and Sabre Jr are some of the best technical wrestlers in history, with Zack Sabre Jr modelling his style of wrestling on Bryan Danielson.
The two men facing off is a dream match for many, including the wrestlers in the match. While the card for Forbidden Door is shaping up to be one of the shows of the year, losing such a huge dream match is a big blow for both AEW and NJPW.
Bryan Danielson’s injury adds to the list of wrestlers who are missing out on the show, due to injuries or scheduling conflicts. It is currently unknown who Zack Sabre Jr will wrestle on the show as a replacement.
