Jon Moxley vs Nick Gage Rematch In Career vs Title Bout

Who do you think will win in the match between Jon Moxley and Nick Gage?

Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) recently announced that the card for their upcoming GCW show will include a huge championship match, featuring their biggest homegrown star and the AEW Champion. Jon Moxley vs Nick Gage was agreed to take place at the next big show, with the GCW Championship on the line.

However, Gage also had to put something on the line. He lost the GCW Championship to Matt Cardona last year and has yet to regain the championship since then. Jon Moxley since became the champion after defeating Matt Cardona in September 2021. Gage is now back in the company and determined to regain the belt, but has been forced to put his entire career on the line in his bid to reclaim the gold.

The match was set up at GCW Homecoming this weekend in Atlantic City. The show included Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green renewing their vows which in classic wrestling wedding style was ruined by an uninvited guest. Nick Gage interrupted the ceremony to give Cardona a gift, a pizza cutter he used to attack the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

Meanwhile, Jon Moxley defending his GCW World Championship against famous LGBTQ+ wrestler Effy in the main event of Homecoming Part 1. After he put away Effy for the victory, he was also confronted by Nick Gage, who entered to a huge pop from the rabid crowd. He challenged the champion for a match for the coveted GCW World Championship in a rematch that the fans were excited to see.

However, the match did not come easy for Gage. He already lost in a Death Match to Moxley in October, failing to win the title from him at GCW Fight Club. Due to him not earning his title shot, Jon Moxley came up for a stipulation for the bout. Jon Moxley vs Nick Gage would not just be for the championship – if Nick Gage were to lose, he would be forced to retire from wrestling.

Nick Gage had previously teased retirement recently, but nobody thought it could be this soon. Given on how much of a run Moxley is on at the moment (he currently holds the Interim AEW Championship) it seems impossible that Nick Gage vs Jon Moxley ends in anything other than a Moxley win and Gage saying farewell to the business he calls home.

GCW have yet to confirm when the long-awaited title rematch would take place. It is expected to be after AEW All Out 2022, where Jon Moxley is likely to wrestle CM Punk to become the Undisputed AEW Champion. It is expected Moxley will lose that match, leaving him open to potential eat a pin against Gage and keep him wrestling into the future.
