Every Seth Rollins 5 Star Match (According To Dave Meltzer)

Seth Rollins made a name for himself as one of the best workers in WWE since his debut in 2012.

Alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, he debuted as part of the Shield at Survivor Series and proceeded to decimate all competition that was put in front of him.

He cashed in his money in the bank contract in the main event of Wrestlemania 30 – something never done before or since – to win his first WWE Championship.

It was one of the greatest moments in WWE history and was robbed of the five star match rating for some reason.

Seth Rollins 5 Star Matches

Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes – Hell In A Cell 2022

Shockingly, the first 5 star match of Seth Rollins career came in 2022. This is much later than many would have expected, especially given how many legendary matches he has been a part of.

The fact that the Triple Threat at the 2015 Royal Rumble between Rollins, Brock Lesnar and John Cena wasn’t given 5 stars is a travesty.

It took until Cody Rhodes returned to the WWE and make a huge name for himself for Seth Rollins to truly get the recognition he deserved.

Despite battling in some of the biggest matches in WWE history, Seth Rollins first first star match in WWE came inside Hell In A Cell in a match famous for his opponent’s heroic performance.

Cody Rhodes came back to the WWE after 6 years away in 2022, returning as Seth Rollins surprise opponent during Wrestlemania that year.

Not to rely too much on a spectacular entrance, the two men put on a fantastic match that just missed out on the five-star rating.

They did the same at the next pay per view (with Rhodes winning both matches) so the stage was set for a final Hell in a Cell match to once and for all earn that coveted match rating from Dave Meltzer.

They did just that, at Hell in a Cell 2022.

Not only was the match fantastic, with Cody Rhodes again winning the third consecutive match between the two, but they worked through a horrific injury suffered by The American Nightmare prior to the match.

He had no use of his right arm and his chest was black due to the torn pectoral muscle he suffered in preparation.

Any other man would have quit. And no other wrestle could have worked around a one armed man to put on an absolute classic.

Luckily, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins combined perfectly for an epic five star match which wont be forgotten in the history of WWE. It was Cody’s crowning glory but the work of Seth Rollins cannot be underappreciated either,.
