Newly-retired former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett returned to WWE as a commentator in 2020, and is making an even bigger return in WWE 2K23!
Also known as Bad-News Barrett during his run in the WWE, the Englishman made a huge impact in 2010 when he debuted as part of the NXT game show.
He won the entire show and went on to from The Nexus, taking over the WWE with one of the most memorable angles of all time.
He recently announced his retirement from wrestling, and took a roll as a commentator on NXT. He has since replaced Pat McAfee on Smackdown and is one of the highlights of the weekly show, broadcasting alongside Michael Cole.
However, Wade Barrett has managed to roll back the hands of time with his inclusion in WWE 2K23. This is his first inclusion in a WWE game since WWE 2K16, and in this article we’ll detail how to unlock Wade Barrett in the video game.
How To Unlock Wade Barrett In WWE 2K23
Wade Barrett is included in WWE 2K23 as part of the “Bad News U” DLC pack. The DLC pack from the online store of your chosen console. The pack costs £7.99 in the UK or $9.99 in the United States.
The pack is also available if you purchase the Season Pass, which cost £24.99 in the UK or $29.99 in the US.
The season pass is available with purchase of the special editions of WWE 2K22. The WWE 2K Icon and Deluxe Versions of the game include, among other things, the WWE 2K23 Season Pass, which will unlock the Bad News U pack.
It also unlocks all unlockable legends on the same, as well as all other packs available for purchase in the game via the online store of choice.
Once purchased, Wade Barrett has no special requirements. Once downloaded he will be available to use in Exhibition Mode, Universe Mode and MyGM mode and you can create custom attires for him to your heart’s content.
One example is his Bad-News Barrett attire from his 2014 return, or his classic Nexus look from his debut in 2010. Recreate his match with Randy Orton, but change the past by making Wade Barrett win the WWE Championship in WWE 2K23.
