Alex Shelley Wins Impact World Championship For The First Time

Nearly two decades after his debut in Impact wrestling, Alex Shelley has finally won the Impact World Championship for the first time in his career.

He is one of the most celebrated wrestlers in the promotions’ history, forming one of the greatest tag teams of all time with Chris Sabin, called the Motor City Machine Guns.

The pair recently beat Subculture (Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster) on a recent episode of Impact, but moved into singles competition at Friday night’s Against All Odds 2023 pay-per-view event.

At Against All Odds 2023, Alex Shelley defeated Steve Maclin to win the Impact World Championship. Shelley hit the ‘Shell Shock’ to finally fulfil his destiny, almost ten years after his partner, Chris Sabin, won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Bully Ray.

Earlier in the night, Chris Sabin defeated Trey Miguel for the X-division championship, with the pair celebrating in the ring to close the show, to a standing ovation from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Nick Aldis, who won the 8-4-1 Challenge earlier in the night, will challenge Shelley for the Impact Wrestling World Championship at Slammiversary 2023.
