Colt Cabana made his long-awaited return to AEW this week, after his controversial exit from the company.
He was rumored to be fired from AEW after CM Punk joined the company, owing to the degenerating relationship between the pair.
This was later denied by both Punk and Tony Khan, revealing that Cabana was simply not needed anymore.
The Young Bucks lobbied for him to stay in the company, and he had a few matches in AEW and ROH, including an ill-fated match with Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite.
Colt Cabana returned to AEW this week on AEW Dynamite, working as a backstage producer for the company.
Fightful Select is reporting that Cabana was working as a producer for the AEW brand at Wednesday’s Dynamite TV tapings in Edmonton.
However, it was not revealed which match he was helping out with, and whether or not his relationship with CM Punk has been repaired.
Cabana has joined the likes of Chris Hero and Dean Malenko as backstage producers in AEW, seemingly signalling an end to their in-ring careers.
Colt Cabana’s last AEW match was his ROH Championship match against Chris Jericho, which included a botch that almost ended in disaster for Le Champion.
