Don Callis Can Bring Konosuke Takeshita To The AEW Main Event

The partnership between Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita is exactly what they need to launch the Japanese star into the main event of AEW.

Before he joined forces with Don Callis before Blood & Guts 2023, Konosuke Takeshita was spinning his wheels.

He had very little character to speak of, and his lack of English hampered his connection to the crowd. Yes, he had brilliant matches with the likes of Adam Page, MJF and Bryan Danielson, but there was very little else to him.

It wasn’t until Double or Nothing 2023 when Konosuke Takeshita would finally join forces with Don Callis and become “The Alpha” of AEW.

During the “Anarchy in the Arena” match between The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club, a hooded Takeshita ran in to attack Kenny Omega, helping Wheeler Yuta pick up the win for his team.

He was soon revealed as the latest addition to the “Don Callis Family”, being accompanies to the ring by the Canadian manager for all of his matches (including wins over Omega at All In and All Out).

With the incredible wins he has picked up since joining up with Callis, it will not be long until we see Takeshita challenging for the AEW World Championship.

A clash with MJF for the title would be the perfect feud to follow the MJF vs Samoa Joe that is planned for WrestleDream.

The promo battles between MJF and Don Callis would be some of the sleaziest, vulgar and epic in history, with neither man letting up letting each other known of their intense disdain for one another.

While some may say Takeshita is not ready for a pay per view main event, wins over Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi (upcoming) would certainly be enough to build him for that match.

Of course, it is not his time to win the title, although I would not be against Don Callis in a Christian Cage-style reign as the “Real” AEW Champion (not like CM Punk did earlier this year).

Nobody can hype up Konosuke Takeshita like Don Callis can, as he showed during an interview on Talk is Jericho.

Don Callis has never been shy in praising the young Japanese star. In an interview with Chris Jericho, Callis claimed that Takeshita “walks into the room and his dick has already been there for two minutes.”

“The Don Callis family starts with Takeshita because he’s a stud athlete. He passes the eye test. 6’3”, 240, he was a competitive decathlete, that means ten events. He didn’t have to be good at one thing, he had to be good at ten things. He was an Olympic-level decathlete.

That’s the kind of athlete he is. Look at him. Looks like a rockstar. He’s the type of guy that walks into the room and his dick has already been there for two minutes. He’s a stud. This is a stud athlete. This is the new Kenny Omega. This is the future,”
