WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther reveals that he wants to face Brock Lesnar in the ring, stating the match is one he “definitely want to have”.
The Austrian powerhouse had a moment with The Beast in the 2023 Royal Rumble, staring down the former WWE Champion before laying in a series of chops. Lesnar was eliminated by Bobby Lashley soon after while Gunther lasted all the way to the end of the match. He entered at number 1 but was eliminated last by winner Cody Rhodes, lasting over 70 minutes in the match.
Speaking to Corey Graves on After The Bell, Gunther revealed that he’d love to have a match with Brock Lesnar, considering him his “end boss” in the WWE.
“That’s a match I definitely want to have at some point in my career. Obviously, there was a lot of talk about it going on – especially online – but sometimes what is the thing online doesn’t translate to the live reaction.
So I think that little moment I had with him there, that was all I needed right now because that was just the real life confirmation that it makes sense, that people are up for this. I was really happy with how everything went down. I said that before like people portrayed me as some sort of end boss character sometimes. If I have one end boss, I think Brock is the one. So let’s see If everything aligns at some point and it’s just gonna happen.”
