Former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree has claimed that Matt Riddle could be fired from the WWE, following an incident at an airport this week.
Riddle was pulled from Monday Night Raw after law enforcement launched an investigation into the alleged incident involving Matt Riddle at JFK International Airport.
The former Tag Team Champion accused officers of sexually assaulting and harassing him at JFK Airport, in a now-deleted social media post (Captured by Cultaholic).
“Nothing like being sexually assaulted by an officer and harassed at the jfk airport, no means no and just because I’m nice doesn’t mean yes!!! A**hole!!! Don’t know they’re Twitter or instagram handles but I took pictures, normally I’m like whatever but today was really weird and uncomfortable and they made a point to make me feel small and useless. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable travel days I’ve ever had thanks NYC you’re so progressive and accepting!”
He also posted a photo of the alleged abuser, which has since been deleted also.
Matt Riddle was removed from Raw this week pending the investigation, although Rene Dupree theorized that there is more to this story than meets the eye.
Speaking on his podcast “Cafe de Rene“, the former tag team champion revealed that he thinks Riddle could be fired from WWE, especially given his past relationship with UFC boss Dana White.
The pair clashed in UFC due to Riddle’s drug usage, although Dana White has little-to-no power in WWE despite the recent merger, so should have no impact on proceedings.
However, Dupree then whent on to say that Riddle could be trying to get sympathy on himself for the situation, and that there may be “more to the story” about his sexual assault allegations.
“He (Dana White) is not a fan of riddle so he might be on the chopping block.“
“Maybe he’s [Matt Riddle] trying to play the baby face now that he’s got all this heat on him. He’s got all this heat on right now, so something like this would make him look like more like a baby face.“
“Maybe he’s trying to say that to like counter whatever he’s being accused – there’s more to this story, dude!“
