MJF thought Cody Rhodes’ neck tattoo was trying to steal his thunder

MJF thought that Cody Rhodes getting his neck tattoo before their pay per view match was an attempt to “steal his thunder”, Britt Baker has revealed.

The AEW Champion defeated Cody at AEW Revolution 2020 in the culmination of their feud, although all anyone could talk about was Cody’s neck tattoo.

The reveal overshadowed the match, and what should have been MJF’s crowning moment was anything but.

In an recent interview, former AEW Women’s champion Dr Britt Baker DMD revealed that MJF thought the tattoo was an attempt to steal his moment.

“He [MJF] felt that Cody was trying to steal his thunder [by revealing the neck tattoo].

“They were in a feud at the time, Cody vs MJF, it was his coming out moment, his big hurrah and BAM! Cody came out with the neck tattoo.

“MJF was like (points finger), he was stealing the spotlight a little bit.”

MJF defeated Cody at the show, but the tattoo was all anybody could talk about for months.

Now both men are at the pinnacle of their respective companies, I’m sure MJF does not hold a grudge against Cody anymore.
