Nia Jax Ready For Return To Wrestling – “It’d Be A Cool Thing”

Nia Jax returned to the WWE as a surprise entrance in the 2023 Royal Rumble, which could be the precursor to her WWE return.

The former Women’s Champion was released by the WWE in 2021, after a seven-year run in the company.

She returned for a one-off appearance in the Royal Rumble match. Due to her immense size, she had to be thrown out by all 11 competitors in the ring. The company released a new shirt for her, but did not sign her back to a contract.

She seemed to have been retired after her release, but since her return to the WWE this year, Nia Jax has “caught the bug” for wrestling again, and hopes to wrestle in the WWE again soon.

Speaking on her recent appearance of the Busted Open Radio show, Nia Jax was asked by Tommy Dreamer if she was going to return to the WWE full time.

She revealed that she did not have any immediate plans to return, but would love to come back to add to the blossoming women’s division in the WWE.

I had just agreed to do the Rumble and just the ‘unsureity’ of myself right now, I wasn’t in the best shape and I wasn’t expecting to come back full-time because it takes a lot to come back full-time.

I wasn’t expecting to come back full-time at the Rumble. I did catch the bug again when I got in the ring, I was like, ‘Oh this feeling, this adrenaline that comes through.’ I was breathing super hard before I went out.

I did catch the bug after being in the Rumble where I was like, ‘Oh, maybe coming back would be a cool thing if the people do remember me.’ The only thing I’d want to do is come back and help anybody out I could. I’d love to add to the division. It would be something that I’d love to do.

Nia Jax did return at the Royal Rumble, but only did so because of it being the last match for Tamina in the WWE.

Nia Jax Returned For Tamina

In the same interview with Busted Open, Nia Jax revealed that she only said yes to come back to the WWE because of her friend, Tamina.

She noted that Tamina had told her this might be her last Royal Rumble match, and that Nia Jax felt like she should be part of that.

Because of this, she jumped at the chance, and had a stand-off with the star at the end of the match, before the pair were thrown out of the match.

“It’s funny because with the previous Rumble, I was not going to come back,” Jax said. “I was asked to come back, and I was like, ‘Absolutely not.’ I wasn’t there. But this last one, my cousin Tamina and I talked about it and she said it might be her last one, and I was like, ‘Well, frick, if that’s going to be Tamina’s last Rumble, I definitely want to be a part of it,’ if they wanted me to be a part of it.”
