Roderick Strong made a huge shock debut in AEW this week, coming to the aid of his former tag team partner Adam Cole.

Nobody knew he had even been released by the WWE, with reports that the NXT star had been denied a contract termination last year.

He had not wrestled since last August, but it was assumed that he was out with an injury of some sort, and was waiting to return to the ring.

He did return, but on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Roderick Strong joined Adam Cole, Bandido and Orange Cassidy and they fought off the Jericho Appreciation Society.

This set up a huge match for next week, which will prove to be Roderick Strong’s in-ring debut for AEW, in his first match for the company.

Roderick Strong’s First AEW Match

Roderick Strong’s first match in AEW will take place on the May 3rd, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite.

After running in to save Adam Cole from an attack by the Jericho Appreciation Society, he will team with his Undisputed Era partner to take on the group in next week’s show.

Roderick Strong and Adam Cole will join forces with Orange Cassidy and Bandido, who helped fight off the group alongside the pair.

The four-on-four tag team match is announced for next weeks AEW Dynamite, and will be the first match Roderick Strong has had since losing to Apollo Crews on NXT, in August 2022.
