This Hilarious Chuck Taylor vs Trent Baretta Match Will Have You In Stitches

Trent Barretta and Chuck Taylor are two of the Best Friends in AEW. As one of the top teams in the promotion, its hard to imagine them going up against each other.

However, that did happen on one fateful evening in April 2019.

During WrestleMania weekend, a host of indie talent was booked to wrestle for the promotion “NOVA Pro”, just prior to Wrestlemania 35.

However, NOVA Pro were called out for not paying any of their wrestlers, so pulled out of the event and did not run any shows that weekend.

This left a gap in the schedule and a bunch of wrestlers with nothing to do, expecting to get paid.

Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) stepped in, putting on an impromptu show at the last minute, titled “GCW Orange Cassidy Is Doing Something Or Whatever Who Knows???”

This show was the cite of the Trent Baretta vs Chuck Taylor 60-second Iron Man Match, as well as number of other hilarious matches. These included:

Chuck Taylor vs Trent Baretta

The hilarious match between Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta was the highlight of the “GCW Orange Cassidy Is Doing Something Or Whatever Who Knows???” show.

The match was a 60-second Iron Man match, not leaving them much time to face off in the ring.

The Best Friends spent the bulk of the match circling each other, testing the ropes and slapping themselves, hyping themselves up for the contest ahead.

They started out with bad blood. Chuck threw his t-shirt at Trent, who proceeded to spit on the shirt – a blatant sign of disrespect.

Trent Baretta spits on Chuck Taylor’s t-shirt, in the early seconds of the match.

The two Best Friends finally locked up as the 60-seconds expired, with referee Bryce Remsburg pulling them apart as the bell rang to end the match.

The crowd applauded at the end of the match, knowing they had seen something special.

However, GCW couldn’t let the match end like they. The pair went into overtime, as they couldn’t send the fans home without a winner.

So, Trent Baretta rolled up Chuck Taylor after 5 seconds, pinning him to win the match in sudden-death overtime.

The crowd exploded with joy upon seeing the result, cheering the winner profusely.

However, Chuck Taylor was not delighted. He threw a tantrum over the loss, refusing to accept his defeat.

Luckily, he and Trent soon hugged in the ring, assuring fans that the Best Friends were as strong as ever.
