Bryan Danielson defeats Miro to win the AEW Eliminator Tournament

Bryan Danielson will be the first man to challenge Hangman Adam Page for his newly won AEW Championship. The former WWE Champion defeated Miro in the finals of the AEW Eliminator Tournament. He earned himself a title shot at a later date.

Bryan Danielson vs Jon Moxley was the match originally rumoured for the match at Full Gear. However, Moxley revealed he was getting treatment for alcoholism prior to his semi final bout against Orange Cassidy. That match was meant to take place on AEW Dynamite, and was a dream match for many AEW fans.

He was replaced by Miro, the former TNT champion. Miro defeated Orange Cassidy to advance to the finals at Full Gear, setting up the match with Bryan Danielson.

The match was a hard hitting affair, with Miro taking huge shots from Danielson without even flinching. He took punches, kicks and chops without it making a mark, and he threw Danielson around similar to Brock Lesnar during his match with Danielson at Survivor Series 2018.

Danielson finally won the hard fought match by targeting the weak neck of Miro. He hit a tornado DDT off the top rope, and transitioned into a guillotine choke to win the match by referee stoppage.

It has not been announced when Danielson will take on Adam Page for his AEW Championship. It could potentially be at AEW Winter is Coming, if the schedule is the same as the previous year. Alternatively, it could take place at one of the hour long specials on TNT in the new year.

More information will be revealed on Wednesday on AEW Dynamite.
