Chuck Taylor leaving AEW after break-up with Trent?

Chuck Taylor‘s AEW career is in doubt after Trent seemed to break up the Best Friends on AEW Dynamite.

In a promo alongside Rocky Romero on Dynamite, Trent declared that Roppongi Vice were back “full time” as a tag team and that they would be chasing the ROH, AAA and AEW World Tag Team Championships.

The duo were a successful tag team in Japan, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in NJPW during a great run in the promotion.

However, since the team broke up, Trent has teamed with Chuck Taylor as the Best Friends in AEW. The duo however have never tasted tag team gold, despite coming close in AEW on multiple occasions.

Chuck Taylor tweeted about the promo after the fact, replying to one of Trent’s tweets by saying “Greg (Trent’s real name) just dumped me on live TV AMA”.

Trent replied to the tweet to clarify to Chuck Taylor, stating that “best friends are also together full time”

Chuck Taylor AEW

Chuck Taylor’s AEW run could be coming to an end. The Best Friend stable seems to be splitting up, with Wheeler Yuta and Kris Statlander already leaving the group. In addition, Orange Cassidy has suffered from an injury since AEW Revolution and now Trent looks intent on leaving.

It has been around three years since Chuck Taylor singed his AEW contract in 2019. He made his debut at Double or Nothing 2019, and his original three-year deal would be coming to an end around about now.

If this split is signalling Chuck Taylor leaving AEW, it would be a sad end to a legend of the indie circuit.

The former PWG Champion has yet to taste gold in AEW, although he has had a five star match in the form of Best Friends vs Santana and Ortiz

Chuck Taylor leaving AEW would be a huge loss. If the tag team does split then I believe he has a great singles run still in him and I could even see Chuck Taylor as TNT Champion some time in the near future.

Please don’t leave AEW Chuck Taylor.

Update – Chuck Taylor returned to AEW after 2 months out on an episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. He returned before Blood & Guts, teaming with Trent in a tag team victory.

Chuck Taylor’s return is expected to start a tag team title push for the Best Friends.

  1. Love Chuckie T- please don’t leave yet!I want more BF!!! Give the people what they want!!
I appreciate that AEW acquired ROH, but now too many ROH titles on Dynamite. Make ROH it’s own show or feature more on Rampage.
