Dave Meltzer has awarded AEW it’s third five star match of the year from the latest edition of AEW Rampage. In the show, two of AEW’s top tag teams faced off in a main event match that some in the crowd have described as the best match they’ve ever seen live.

The Young Bucks took on The Lucha Brothers (Penta Obscuro and Rey Fenix) in a match that wowed fans and impressed Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

In a fast paced match that solidified the two sets of brothers standing as the top tag teams in the world, they blew everyone away in a match that it didn’t matter who won (although The Young Bucks did pull off the victory in the end).

Dave Meltzer awarded the match 5 stars in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer. It is the third time that the two former AEW Tag Team Champions have faced each other in matches rated at least five stars. In previous bouts they faced off in a ladder match and a steel cage match with both teams getting a win a-piece.

In victory, the Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) have earned themselves a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships. They and their AEW Double or Nothing 2022 opponents The Hardys will take on the champions Jurassic Express in a blockbuster ladder match on AEW Dynamite.

The three way battle has the chance to earn the Young Bucks another five star match, with the Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) being specialists in the match type and Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) being the champions and a top young tag team in the world.

We will report any more 5 star Dave Meltzer matches here.
