MJF vs Jon Moxley Booked For Full Gear 2022

Who do you think will win the AEW Championship match of Jon Moxley vs MJF?

After his victory in the Casino Ladder Match (well, technically), MJF has bided his time and waited for the perfect moment to cash in his casino chip. The chip guaranteed him a championship match against the AEW Champion and he has finally decided when he will challenge for the title, for the second time in his career.

MJF vs Jon Moxley has been booked for AEW Full Gear 2022 as a blockbuster main event for the AEW Championship. After defeating Adam Page by referee stoppage on AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, Moxley will face possibly his greatest challenge yet as the mischievous MJF is on the run of his life and for the first, has the crowd behind in his race for the gold.

MJF vs Jon Moxley

Maxwell Jacob Freidman, or MJF, earned his shot at Jon Moxley by winning the Casino Ladder Match at AEW All Out 2022. However, his win wasn’t the conventual victory AEW fans have become accustomed to. The leader of The Firm Malcom Bivens climbed the ladder and retrieved the Casino Chip, before a man in a devil mask sauntered down the aisle to the tune of the Rolling Stones’ hit “Sympathy For The Devil”

Defeating AEW stars like Rey Fenix and Wheeler Yuta, “The Devil” earned himself a shot at the AEW Championship. He later revealed himself as MJF at the end of the show, confronting AEW Champion CM Punk (who would be injured at the show, and later suspended, and be forced to vacate the title. It would later be won by Jon Moxley, the current champion).

MJF will face Jon Moxley in the main event of AEW Full Gear 2022 in a battle for the AEW Championship. It will be the second time MJF has challenged for the fabled title, with the first time also being against Jon Moxley.

However, that match took place over two years ago, during Moxley’s first run as the champion. They battled at AEW All Out 2020, during the difficult pandemic era when no fans were allowed into the arena. In that instance, Moxley came out victorious over his younger opponent but it gave fans the first taste of MJF in the main event, and they liked it.

The champion defended his AEW Championship on this weeks episode of AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, in a first-time ever match against “Hangman” Adam Page. In what was a dream match for many, it ended in disaster when Hangman took a bad bump on a lariat and landed on his head. This caused a bad concussion which forced the match to be ended early and the challenger rushed to hospital.

After the match, MJF tried to cash in his casino chip on Mox, but decided against it. Instead, he informed the fans that Jon Moxley vs MJF would take place at the next Pay Per View – Full Gear 2022 – in one of the biggest matches the heavily depleted AEW rosters in a long time. MJF also took heed of William Regal’s earlier promo by “earning” the title, rather than cashing in on an unsuspecting champion.

It is expected that MJF will be the winner of the match, with his opponent long overdue for a vacation. He reportedly was forced to cancel his holiday post-All Out 2022, after CM Punk and The Elite’s suspension leaving AEW in a rut and needing star power. Ever the professional, he put his break on hold and won his third AEW Championship in as many years.

MJF vs Jon Moxley will be the main event of AEW Full Gear 2022. The event takes place on November 19th, 2022 and will be broadcast on Bleacher Report in the United States and Fite.TV Worldwide.
