MLW Sign Dynamite Kid’s Nephews – The Billington Bulldogs

Major League Wrestling have announced a new signing to add to their roster, as they bring British Wrestling Royalty to the compare.

The legendary Dynamite Kid was one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time and innovated the Junior Heavyweight style that is beloved today. He inspired the style of legends like Chris Benoit, although injuries took him out of the game in his prime and forced him into early retirement, and he passed away in 2018 aged 60.

However, his nephews Mark Billington and Thomas Billington have carried on his legacy. The tag team hail from England, like their uncle and are one of the top up-and-coming teams on the indepednet scene. The have wrestled all over the world and come into MLW as their latest signing, known together as The Billington Bulldogs.

The name the Billington Bulldogs pays homage to their uncle and his former tag team partner Davey Boy Smith. Together, they were known as the British Bulldogs, and the young pair have paid tribute to the late pair with their tag team name.

They debuted for MLW at the Fightland show in a trios match, teaming up with the son of the British Bulldog, Davey Boy Smith Jr, on the Fightland show on Sun October 30, 2022. The team, which represents the past 40 years of British Wrestling, defeated Bomaye Fight Club in a fun match to earn their first win in MLW.

The Billington Bulldog’s signing for MLW was revealed by Alicia Atout on the first episode of MLW Insider. She confirmed that the pair had been signed to deals with the promotion and had even travelled to Calgary to train with Legendary pro-wrestler and friend of Dynamite Kid, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. With him on their side, the potential for the young duo seem limitless.

“The Billington Bulldogs, Tom and Mark Billington, have signed with MLW. The nephews of The Dynamite Kid have impressed fans and promoters in the United Kingdom with their “Smash Mouth” style and recently the brothers Billington journeyed to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they have been training with their cousin Davey Boy Smith Jr and the legendary Bret “The Hitman” Hart!”

Davey Boy Smith Jr was released by WWE earlier this year without ever wrestling for company in his second stint. Click below to read all about why he was released and what’s in story for the legendary Hart family member.
