Daniel Bryan’s last WWE match was against Roman Reigns on Smackdown. On April 30, 2021, Daniel Bryan faced Roman Reigns in his last ever WWE match, with the dual stipulation of a title-vs-career match. If Daniel Bryan won, he would become the Universal Champion, but if he lost he would have to leave WWE for good.

Roman Reigns pinned Daniel Bryan in a fantastic match that was rated 4.5 stars by Dave Meltzer. Daniel Bryan gave it his all, trying his best to beat down the champion and left everything he had in the ring against Roman Reigns.

Bryan combined hard hitting strikers with excellent technical ability that had made him a fan-favourite in WWE. He came close to ending Roman Reigns’ year long spell as the World Champion, but could not withstand the Tribal Chiefs’ immense power. He was forced to tap out by Roman Reigns, ending Daniel Bryan’s last match in a humbling defeat.

He would later debut for AEW at All Out 2021, but this was as his real name of Bryan Danielson, as opposed to as Daniel Bryan. Whilst Daniel Bryan’s last WWE match was against Roman Reigns, the career of Bryan Danielson has gone from strength to strength in All Elite Wrestling.
