Would you like to see Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn win the tag team titles in WWE?
The duo tagged together in 2016 as part of the Smackdown roster, most notably feuding with Shane McMahon and wrestling Daniel Bryan in his first match back after retirement. However, the pair were soon split up and never won the WWE Tag Team Championships together.
The duo went their separate ways, finding success as singles competitors. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn featured in numerous high-profile feuds, with Kevin Owens even wrestling the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 38. He lost to the returning Austin but impressed fans by protecting the aging star, certainly earning him much credibility backstage.
He revealed in a recent interview that his dream was to team with his friend Sami Zayn again and finally win the WWE Tag Team Championships, a title he has never won in his career. The pair won tag team titles as Kevin Steen and El Generico but never as their WWE names of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
In the interview with TWC Show, the former ROH Champion said;
Of course. I’ve never been a tag team champion. I’d love to be tag team champion anybody. Well, maybe not anybody. There are a couple of guys I could see myself winning the Tag Team Titles with, obviously, Sami is at the top of the list.
He then went on to note how the pair had won championships “everywhere we’ve went, except for WWE” and that winning those titles are the last thing to get “checked off the list” in the WWE
That would be the ultimate good moment for us, to achieve that. We’ve been tag team champions everywhere we’ve went, except for WWE. We definitely have to get that checked off the list soon enough.
Kevin Owens recently faced Drew McIntyre on Raw and looks set to face the winner of Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle for the Unified WWE Universal Championship.
