The former Stardust defeated Seth Rollins in an incredible match, and continued to face off with him at multiple following WWE events.
The pair clashed at the 2023 Royal Rumble match, before the former Shield member was thrown out of the match by Logan Paul.

How Many Times Has Cody Rhodes Beat Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes has beaten Seth Rollins 22 times in singles matches.
The run dates back to 2010, when the pair faced off in a dark match on Smackdown.
The match occurred just months after Seth Rollins signed for the WWE, and lost to Cody Rhodes before being sent down to FCW.
They would wrestle in another match two years later, this time at a Smackdown house show.
This was in March 2012, before Rollins debuted on the main roster as part of the Shield at Survivor Series that year.
Cody Rhodes beat Seth Rollins in that match once again, adding to his impressive record against the multi-time world champion.
This time, Cody defended his WWE Intercontinental Championship against the young star, adding to his winning streak.
The pair did not face off in singles action for another decade. However, they faced off in multiple tag team matches, with both sides trading wins on various TV and house show events.
Despite this, no singles matches between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes took place during this time.
Cody Rhodes teamed with his brother Goldust in most of the matches against Seth Rollins. Rollins teamed up with Roman Reigns to take on Cody and Dustin Rhodes in some huge matches, in the multiple and impressive “Shield vs Rhodes” feud of 2013.
The two men feuded in 2013 as part of the Shield vs Rhodes storylines. Cody teamed with his brother Goldust to save their jobs, as well as the job of their father, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes and Goldust won the bulk of the contests. They defeated The Shield at Battleground 2013 and then again on Monday Night Raw, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships in the process.
Cody Rhodes left the WWE in 2016, ending his run in the WWE with two wins to Seth Rollins zero.
Rhodes would stay away from the WWE for 6 years before making a triumphant return to the company at WrestleMania 38.
After spending three years in AEW as the Executive-Vice President, Cody Rhodes answered Seth Rollins’ open challenge at WrestleMania. He defeated Rollins in a fantastic match, extending his win streak against The Architect to 3-0.
However, that would just be the beginning.
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins would happen a number of times after that. They wrestled twice more on Pay Per View, at WrestleMania Backlash and Hell in a Cell in 2022.
Cody Rhodes won both matches but suffered an injury prior to their Hell in a Cell match. He powered through to a five-star match but, afterwards, was out injured until a grand return in the 2023 Royal Rumble match.
Since his return to the WWE, Cody Rhodes has beaten Seth Rollins in every single match they have gone one-on-one.
