Becky Lynch’s WrestleMania Main Event Matches, Ranked

Becky Lynch is undoubtably on the list of the greatest women wrestlers in WWE history.

The Irish star came through NXT, years after retiring due to concussions, and with the backing of the fans ascended to the very top of the industry.

Multiple World Title reigns followed her debut, as well as some of the biggest matches the company has ever seen. She also won the Royal Rumble match, something few women can claim to have done.

The Man made history in 2018, when she became the first woman to win in the main event of WrestleMania. It was a huge success, and proved that women were just as good as the men.

Since her triumph, multiple women have gone on to have huge blockbuster matches at the biggest show of the year.

In this thread, we’ll look through every one of Becky Lynch’s WrestleMania main event matches, talking you through the story of the match and how it came to be.

WrestleMania 35 – Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair

Becky Lynch’s first WrestleMania main event match was at WrestleMania 35.

The Man had exploded in popularity in the year prior, with a failed heel turn not deterring the crowd from cheering for their favourite.

The Irish superstar came out a new attitude and a new nickname, calling herself The Man and simply taking what was hers, after years of passiveness.

This endeared her to the ground, as she evoked the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and other legends of the past to create her new main event character.

Her defining moment came before Survivor Series 2018, when a bloody-faced Becky Lynch faced off with Ronda Rousey, helping set up their match for WrestleMania.

The Lass Kicker went on to win the 2019 Royal Rumble, entering at number 28 to win the whole thing, to a huge crowd pop.

She chose Ronda Rousey as her WrestleMania match, and with Lynch’s popularity at an all-time high, the match was chosen to be the main event of WrestleMania 35.

For some reason, Charlotte Flair was later added to the match, making it so both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships were on the line. The match did not need her, and honestly hurt the bout overall.

Becky Lynch pinned Ronda Rousey with an unconventional, if not underwhelming, pin fall to win the match, and take home both women’s championships.

This made history as the first ever all-female main event of WrestleMania, all built upon the back of Becky Lynch.

Her immense popularity helped her to break the glass ceiling, and she will go down as one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time – man or woman.
