A Brock Lensar vs Bray Wyatt match has long been rumoured in the WWE, although there is a good reason why it has never taken place.

The match was, at one point, a dream match. Bray Wyatt was a top young star in the company, leading his own flock of devout followers known as The Wyatt Family.

He was angling to be the next Undertaker in the WWE, even wrestling the man himself at WrestleMania 31.

However, despite eliminating Brock Lesnar in the Royal Rumble the year after, the two never set foot in the ring against one another in singles action.

Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt was reported due to take place at WrestleMania 32, but was cancelled due to reasons unknown. Instead, Wyatt had a segment with The Rock, while Lesnar took on Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) in a disappointing hardcore match.

It looked like the pair would finally clash at WrestleMania 39, with neither man having a clear path to the biggest show of the year.

Instead, Brock Lesnar is set to do battle with the giant Omos, while Wyatt is booked to take on Bobby Lashley. The wait for the dream match continues.

And, sadly, it looks like it will continue. It’s likely we will never see that match, because Brock Lesnar has refused to work with Bray Wyatt due to the spooky and supernatural nature of his character.

Lesnar basis his persona on his real-life accolades and a former UFC Champion, and a feud with Bray Wyatt could make him lose his aura for good.

This was revealed by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio. The journalist spoke about the potential Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt match, indicating it was Lesnar who refused to work with Wyatt.

“An idea for Brock Lesnar was Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania and Brock said no to that one, which doesn’t surprise me in the least.

When I heard that story, it made all the sense in the world to me, because it’s like for Brock Lesnar being involved in that Hocus Pocus with the aura that he has Brock’s Aura is being real so the idea of even putting Brock in there with Bray Wyatt as a booking idea was on the surface a very bad idea, and Brock knew it and turned it down”

Bray Wyatt’s match with Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39 looks to be in jeopardy, due to a rumoured illness for the former WWE Champion.

Meanwhile. Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract is set to be up after WrestleMania 39, and could be on his way out of the WWE upon it’s conclusion.
