Nobody could ever accuse Hulk Hogan of not promoting patriotism.
You just have to look at his career in the WWE and WCW. Hogan was always the man who fought the foreign heel, the man who degraded the USA in every promo.
Over the years, he beat the likes of The Iron Sheik, Sgt Slaughter (pro-Iraq), Nikita Koloff, Yokozuna and many, many more. He did it all for America, and that’s what ingratiated him to the crowd.
Hulk Hogan’s theme songs in the WWE and WCW also played up to this fact. The titles alone (“Real American” and “American Made”) painted a completely unsubtle picture about what his character was about.
Despite this, he was beloved – especially by Cody Rhodes.
Hulk Hogan was named as one of Rhodes’ favorite wrestlers – he wanted Hogan to join him in Bullet Club, while also naming Hogan’s match with The Rock as the best match ever.
Cody Rhodes even filmed himself, alongside The Young Bucks and SCU, paying tribute to Hulk Hogan in 2018, singing along to his theme song.
During a tour in the UK, Cody Rhodes sang along to Hulk Hogan’s American Made song (his WCW entrance music that was on his terrible “Hulk Rules” album) in a hilarious Twitter video.
The song is an over-the-top, American patriotic song that really goes too far as to how much you can sing about loving the USA.

As you can see from the video, the lyrics from American Made are utterly ridiculous. They sound like a parody of what Hulk Hogan is, making fun of his over-the-top wrestling persona.
Lyrics like “he has the red, white and blue running through his veins” and “He’ll fight for your freedom if you really believe” make it sound like a bad parody of “Real American” (itself also ridiculous).
