Jade Cargill returned to AEW this week, coming to work for the first time since May earlier this year.
The former TBS Champion lost her title to Kris Statlander at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, in an impromptu match following a title defense against Taya Valkyrie.
This was the last time fans saw Jade Cargill, who took a leave of absence following the end of her 60-0 winning streak in AEW.
There were reports that Cargill could be leaving AEW and quitting wrestling altogether, citing her successful businesses outside of wrestling as a big factor in the decision.
This would have been a huge blow to Tony Khan, who sacrificed most of the women’s division in AEW to the altar of Cargill.
Lucky for fans of the former TBS Champion, Jade Cargill returned to AEW backstage this week, being spotted behind-the-scenes at AEW Dynamite.
Fightful Select is reporting that Jade Cargill was backstage at the August 9th episode of AEW Dynamite, leading to speculation about her return to the company.
However, it was not made clear the reason for her return. It is likely she was meeting with Tony Khan to facilitate a return to the company, but we can only speculate on that.
When Jade Cargill returns to AEW, it is likely she will slot into the AEW Women’s Championship title scene, alongside stars like Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm and Saraya.
