Youtube star KSI made a shock debut in the WWE, appearing alongside Logan Paul at WrestleMania 39.
The English influencer has never been a part of the wrestling before, instead dipping his toe into the worlds of boxing and football (soccer).
KSI even fought Logan Paul in the boxing ring, during a heated feud between the two Youtube stars. They drew the first bout, before KSI won the rematch on a points decision in the UK.
However, in recent years they have become much closer. KSI and Logan Paul, prior to signing with WWE, created their own soft drinks company, bringing the hugely successful Prime drink around the globe.
This drink, believe it or not, was the basis for KSI’s debut in the WWE.
KSI WWE Debut
KSI made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 39 Night 1, appearing as a surprise guest in the Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins match.
Before the incredible bout that pitted the Youtube star against the former Shield member, Logan Paul entered the arena alongside a man dressed in a giant Prime drink bottle.
It was later revealed to be KSI in the company, who interfered to help keep Paul in the match.
However, some cunning from Seth Rollins saw Logan Paul hit KSI with a Frog Splash through the announce table, in one of the funniest spots in WrestleMania history.
This was KSI’s debut in the WWE, after previously stating he did not want to be part of it, alongside Logan Paul.
However, we are still awaiting KSI’s first match in WWE. Despite this, he has spoken about which WWE superstar he would face off with inside the ring.
KSI Wants To Wrestle In WWE
However, KSI was upbeat after the match, while talking to backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley. The Youtuber-turned-Boxer spoke about his impact on the match, and gave an interesting answer when asked who he would like to wrestle in a WWE ring.
KSI said he would like to face Bobby Lashley, after revealing that he used to play as him on the WWE video games back in the day.
“I mean, you never know, you never know. If I was to choose an opponent? Oh my God. I don’t even know – Bobby Lashley!
Bobby Lashley – put me in with the beast! He’s literally like triple me.
You know what? I’m up for the challenge!”
However, when Cathy Kelley reminded him that he had previously mentioned stepping into the ring, KSI sheepishly turned down the idea, stating that he couldn’t because “he’s a legend!”.
What is KSI’s Real Name?
Youtube and WWE star KSI’s real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji.
His name is a traditional Nigerian name, coming from his parents, who come from the country. He is a first-generation Briton, with his parents moving to England before he was born.
His original Youtube name was KSIOlajideBT. The name came from three different sources;
- KSI – this came from a clan he was in on the XBOX 360, standing for “Knowledge, Strength and Integrity”
- Olajide is KSI’s real-life first name, so added it after the clan tag to signify who he was.
- BT – KSI later revealed that the BT was a cosmetically pleasing end to his screen name, and simply stood for British Telecoms.
