So far in his career, Kevin Owens has wrestled in two WrestleMania main events.

However, both matches were incredibly different, with vastly different stories making them some of the most original matches in the near-40 year history of the event.

Kevin Owens vs Steve Austin (WrestleMania 38, Night 1)

Eight years after signing for the WWE, Kevin Owens main evented his first WrestleMania – in extraordinary fashion.

After 19 years outside of the ring, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin came out of retirement for one last bout, answering the challenge of Kevin Owens.

In his hometown of Texas, Austin came out of retirement after Nineteen years of retirement to shut Kevin Owens up, once and for all.

Sick of hearing the Canadian run down his home state, Austin accepted his challenge of a No Holds Barred match, and rolled back the years with a fantastic performance.

The pair brawled around the arena, with Austin hitting all his signature moves as he drank untold amounts of beer, much to crowd delights.

Despite taking a suplex onto the concrete floor, Steve Austin beat Kevin Owens in the WrestleMania main event in what looks to be his last match ever.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs The Usos (WrestleMania 39, Night 2)

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens main evented the first night of WrestleMania 39 Night 1, in a history-making tag team bout against The Usos.

The huge victory in the main event of WrestleMania was the culmination of a multi-decade long story, that saw the pair go from the dank gyms in Montreal, all the way to the main event of WrestleMania.

From their tag teams and battles as Kevin Steen and El Generico, all the way to their triumph over The Usos, the two Canadian’s career have been intertwined, with this being the perfect way for them to end WrestleMania 39.


For only the second time, a tag team match was the last match of a WrestleMania show.

The first was at WrestleMania 1, when Hulk Hogan teamed with Mr T to take on Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.

Sami Zayn teamed with Kevin Owens in the WrestleMania 39 Night 1 main event, which was Zayn’s first, and Kevin’s second, time in the last match on the show.

This is the last time Kevin Owens main evented WrestleMania, and this article will be updated if he main events any more WrestleMania events.
