Kurt Angle has heaped praise on Samoa Joe, labelling him as one of the best wrestlers ever.
Angle and Joe had a number of legendary matches in TNA. They battled numerous times over the years, trading wins against each other.
He praised how unique the match was, and noted how Samoa Joe went through real MMA-training to prepare for the bout.
However, his biggest praise was toward Joe himself.
Kurt Angle called Samoa Joe “one of the top 10 best overall workers in the history of the business”, which is huge coming from a WWE Hall of Famer like Angle.
He went on to list the reasons why he thinks Joe is great, something which clearly means a lot to Kurt Angle.
“Joe did this all on his own. That’s why this guy is so special—what he can do with a microphone, and not only that, what he could do in the ring.” Kurt Angle said.
“I mean, this guy has to be one of the top 10 best overall workers in the history of the business. He really is. His athleticism is off the charts, and his promo skills are off the charts too. He’s incredible.”
Angle added, “You know what the cool thing about Joe is? He’s willing to try new stuff. I mean, he’s always changed his repertoire.”
“He never uses the same thing over and over again. He has so much, you know, so many different moves, so many different styles he can work. He’s just really versatile.”
Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe had many classic matches in TNA, but this one is considered their best.
Both men eventually signed for WWE years later, although their runs were generally disappointing.
They were released during the pandemic, with Samoa Joe going on to sign for AEW and ROH.
