Seth Rollins vs Logan Paul at WrestleMania 39

The incredible streak of matches in Logan Paul’s short career has continued, with his battle against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39.

The pair followed a disappointing pair of matches (Cena vs Theory and the men’s tag team match) and had to work hard to bring this show back to being one of the best WrestleMania’s of all time.

The match was set up after the 2023 Royal Rumble, which also Logan Paul’s incredible spot with Ricochet in the titular match.

Logan Paul made his long-awaited return at the 2023 Royal Rumble, entering as a surprise entrant at number 29 to make a big splash in the match. He leapt in the air with a springboard move and collided in mid-air with Ricochet in one of the most shocking moves in WWE history.

After the attack he was thought to be eliminated from the match. However, he rolled underneath the ropes and was not eliminated from the match. He snuck back into the match as Gunther, Rollins and Cody Rhodes brawled in the ring and throw Rollins out of the match,

This rivalry continued into Monday Night Raw, with Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins teased many times, with the pair brawling on a regular basis.

Eventually, the match was set and the venue would be night 1 of WrestleMania 39, in one of the marquee matches on the show.

Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins

The crowd knew they were set for a top match as soon as both men came out for their entrances.

Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins began with some of the most spectaculr entrance. Logan Paul was hoisted into the air, presumably by a crane, as he debuted new entrance music.

He was lifted above the crowd and onto the ramp, talking to the crowd on the microphone as he was lowered down. He was also joined on the way to the ring by a man dressed like a Prime energy drink, a brand Paul owns with Youtuber KSI.

Next up was Seth Rollins. A lone conductor stood on the stage, instructing the crowd to sing along with Rollins’ theme song.

It didn’t really work great, with the fans not really getting involved in the way they would have liked. Once he made it to the ring, they sang his song as loud as they could.

Despite all wrestling knowledge pointing towards it, Seth Rollins was not the man in the Prime Energy suit. He entered in a big red coat and looking thoroughly ridiculous, ready for his battle with Logan Paul.

The Match

Drenched in a horrific pink attire, Seth Rollins locked up with Logan Paul to start the match.

They traded holds before heading to the ropes, where Rollins got the upper-hand with a shoulder tackle and a kick by the former Shield member.

Logan Paul soon got his own revenge, throwing Seth Rollins over the top rope, mocking the elimination from the Royal Rumble three months prior.

The first big move of the match was Logan Paul hitting his “Maverick Lariat”, his person of Adam Page’s “Buckshot Lariat” in AEW. He then hit a springboard cross body and a standing moonsault for a two count.

A Russian Leg Sweep, transitioned into Antonio Inoki’s Octopus Stretch, also used by AJ Lee, was locked into Rollins, but he managed to escape before tapping out.

The pair traded elbows, before a craved Rollins hit a series of slaps and pulled the nose of Paul. However, he ate a Gutwrench Suplex for his troubles, with Logan back on top of the match.

The bout had been slow so far, but the Youtube star took it up a notch by leaping to the top rope and attempting a top-rope moonsault, barely being avoided by Seth Rollins.

Rollins then hit three suicide dives in a row, as the crowd got firmly behind The Visionary in this match. He began to work the hand that knocked Rollins out on Raw, stamping it on the steel steps.

The pair traded flash pinfalls, harkening back to old-school matches of Bret Hart in the WWF. However, Logan Paul hit Seth Rollins with his titanium-filled hand, seemingly knocking out his rival.

Somehow, Rollins kicked out at two.

He managed to hit a powerbomb, but a two count is all the referee could muster from the count. Despite the huge spots in the match, neither wrestler seems to be out of breath.

Then, the Prime man finally came into play. The Prime Man dragged him out of the ring, revealing himself to be KSI (Logan Paul’s business partner and Youtube). They set up Rollins on the announce table, but Rollins reversed and Logan nailed a frog splash through the table onto KSI.

Rollins got Paul back into the ring, hitting a Pedigree. He pinned his opponent, but only managed a near fall.

What could he do to put Logan Paul away?

He continued to attack, but Logan Paul managed to get away, mimicking CM Punk by hitting him with a GTS. He then hit a Frog Splash, but still the former WWE Champion managed to withstand the barrage.

Logan tried to end the match with a coast to coast, but ate a superkick in mid-air to stop him in his tracks.

Seth Rollins vs Logan Paul ended soon after, with a Curb Stomp doing enough to knock the Youtuber down for the three count.

Seth Rollins picked up the win in the match of the night up until that point, with the inclusion of KSI being unveiled as “Prime Man” being one of the highlights of the WrestleMania 39: Night 1.

This was one of the best matches of Logan Paul’s career. So far, he’s had a fantastic streak of matches in the WWE, despite his lack of experience.

However, he has exceeded any expectations, and despite the loss remains one of the top performing wrestlers in the company.
