AEW’s Miro spoke about his booking in the company so far, revealing that he doesn’t have the “pull” backstage to pick his own opponents.
The former WWE Superstar debuted in AEW in 2020, and went on a fantastic run with the TNT Championship.
However, he hadn’t wrestled since All Out 2022 before making his highly anticipated return to the ring for the debut episode of AEW Collision.
Miro defeated Tony Nese in decisive fashion, re-introducing himself to the AEW fans a dominant force in the company.
However, it would not appear as if Miro chose Nese as his opponent for his return.
Speaking to the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, Miro revealed that he doesn’t “have the pull” to choose who he works with, instead just following whatever Tony Khan tells him to do.
He does, however, have control over his own promos. His “God’s Favorite Champion” gimmick was a fan-favorite, and made him a big star in the WWE.
“I really don’t care. I don’t have that pull.” Miro told the “Good Karma Wrestling” podcast, “I just show up, I beat people, whatever they tell me. I write my promos, I deliver my promos, everything else is up to him, to the man who sits on top of that chair.”
I’m not that guy, ‘Oh, I want to work with this guy or that guy.’” the Bulgarian added, “No, give me your best, I’ll take them all. It’s all about the story and how you get these. Let’s get there in a way where people are going to be intrigued and have a good match after.“
Miro is not currently booked for Forbidden Door, but is likely to appear on next week’s episode AEW Collision on Saturday night.
