Tony Khan has booked Sting & Darby Allin vs Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara for this week’s AEW Dynamite, following an incredible Forbidden Door show.
In the post-show media scrum, Chris Jericho interrupted Sting and Darby Allin’s press conference and challenged the duo to a match.
Tony Khan agreed to book the match after the bat wielding Jericho struck a journalist with a bottle, albeit by accident.
This is the first match confirmed for AEW Dynamite this week, which is taking place in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Chris Jericho wrestled against Sting for the first time in his career at Forbidden Door 2023.
He teamed with Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki in a six-man tag team match, taking on Sting, Darby Allin and Tetsuya Naito.
Naito picked up the win for his team, although it was Jericho who wanted the rematch against Sting on Dynamite.
He launched into a tirade against Sting in the media scrum, and revealed that he would be donning his alter ego for the tag team match on Dynamite: The Painmaker.
