The Mountie Reveals Why He’s Not In The WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Legend Jacques Rougeau has spoken about a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction, revealing why he thinks he is not inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Rougeau is a former WWE Tag Team Champion, having won the titles alongside his brother Pierre ( who is most well known today as being PCO, in ROH and Impact).

Despite being a former tag team and Intercontinental Champion, Jacques Rougeau (AKA The Mountie) has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

With a number of his colleagues already receiving their hall of fame rings, the Canadian has revealed why he thinks he has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Why Isn’t The Mountie In The WWE Hall of Fame?

Jacques Rougeau, aka The Mountie, has revealed why he has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The former Intercontinental Champion spoke to WrestlingNews.co, revealing how a fight with Dynamite Kid backstage is why he believes he has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (as of 2023).

“I honestly feel from the bottom of my heart if it wasn’t for that big fight we had and all that, The Rougeaus would be in the Hall of Fame.

Because everybody else we worked with that we worked months and years with like, The Hart Foundation, The Rockers, The Bulldogs, Tito Santana, and everything I accomplished as The Mountie is incredible, The Jailhouse Match.

I could go on and on and on about all the things I’ve accomplished in 11 years. I think that he’s given me a receipt by not putting me in the Hall of Fame.”

The fight in question was a backstage scrap that Jacques Rougeau had with The Dynamite Kid in 1988.

Dynamite Kid and the British Bulldog had been pulling pranks backstage for months, but Dynamite had gone much further than his teammate.

He was known as an unsavoury character, known for his quick temper and generally not being a very nice person (Bret Hart talks a lot about him in his book).

This came to a head during a show in 1988, when Dynamite Kid beat up The Mountie backstage, leaving his body, and his ego, battered and bruised.

Jacques Rougeau got his revenge on the English star some weeks later, hitting the Dyanmite Kid with a sucker punch with a roll of quarters.

He knocked four of his teeth out, humiliating the Lancashire-born superstar and sending him to the hospital, with his tail between his legs.

The pair did not have any issues after that day, but Jacques Rougeau truly believes that the fight is the reason why The Mountie and PCO are not currently in the WWE Hall of Fame.

The fight was detailed on the Dark Side of the Ring episode, talking about the career of the Dynamite Kid.
