Wardlow vs MJF Could Be Next AEW Championship Feud

After his impressive victory over Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution 2023, Wardlow revealed that he wants to take the AEW Championship from MJF in the near future.

Wardlow destroyed MJF at last year’s AEW Double or Nothing event, powerbombing him ten times and pinning him with ease. MJF took a long hiatus after the match and wasn’t seen again until All Out 2022.

There has been no interaction between the pair on TV since that match. Wardlow has become a two-time TNT Champion since then, and would love to take on the AEW Champion some times in the near future.

MJF vs Wardlow

Wardlow vs MJF could be the next big match for the AEW Championship, if Wardlow gets his way.

During the AEW Revolution 2023 post-show press conference, the TNT Champion was asked by Dave Meltzer if he wants to wrestle MJF next, given that he beat him last year at Double or Nothing 2022.

Answering honestly, he noted that he beat Max the year prior, and said that “he ain’t better than me”. Wardlow also revealed that he would “love” to be both TNT and AEW Champion at the same time, a first for a wrestler in AEW.

Speaking at the AEW Revolution 2023 post show scrum, Wardlow said;

“It kinda goes back to everybody running around here and calling themselves ‘the best’. That’s his catchphrase, right? “I’m better than you, and you know it”.

I think I proved last year at Double or Nothing, he ain’t better than. I will give all the props to Max in the world tonight. That was impressive, and I was not expecting that.

But, I mopped the floor with the kid. Powerbombed him 10 times, put my foot on his chest and pinned him clean as a whistle

So is he better than me? uh uh. So I would love to be the first TNT and AEW World Champion, simultaneously”
